Niche retail agent Mortlock Simmonds Brown (MSB) has been brought on board to improve the tenant profile at the 140,000 sq ft (13,00 sq m) Fleet Walk shopping centre in Torquay, Devon.
MSB will work as joint letting agent with Hartnell Taylor Cook, which continues as managing agent.
Fleet Walk is owned by the Anglo Parkwood Ashdown Limited Partnership, which acquired the Torquay scheme and the Clarendon Centre in Hyde from Bourne End Properties earlier this year for £41m.
Anglo Parkwood is made up of Anglo Irish Bank’s private equity fund, Parkwood (a joint venture between Robert Maxted’s Ardwood Property Holdings and John Lorimer’s New Park Lane) and Ashdown Capital.
Maxted said MSB has been brought in to improve the tenant profile of the centre and boost rents.
Opened in 1989, Fleet Walk Shopping Centre was developed by Rosehaugh Heritage and comprises 50 units. Major occupiers include Body Shop, Superdrug and W H Smith.
It currently generates a total rental income of £1.85m pa.
