Niche firms break into top flight of London office agents

Fruit-Wool-Exchange-THUMB.jpegA record number of deals and smaller transaction sizes helped niche agents break into the top 10 in the latest EGi London Offices Market Analysis.

City fringe specialist Hatton Real Estate climbed to eighth place in the agents league, acting on 31 deals and disposing of 212,000 sq ft, while Edward Charles & Partners came ninth, acting on 194,000 sq ft.

Knight Frank was the biggest climber in the top 10, boosted by a 275,536 sq ft prelet to Ashurst at the London Fruit and Wool Exchange, E1. The deal helped lift the agent from
ninth place in Q2 to third in Q3.

It disposed of 656,740 sq ft during the period.

JLL and CBRE remained in first and second place respectively, while BNP Paribas Real Estate dropped out of the top 10, having been boosted by major prelets to the FCA and Transport for London earlier this year.

In the submarkets, Knight Frank was the top agent by disposals in the southern fringe; JLL led in the City fringe and Midtown; and CBRE was top in the City, West End and Docklands.
