Nick Candy’s One Hyde Park penthouse is on the market, at a whopping £175m.
The price tag makes it Britain’s most expensive apartment ever, but then it does cover 18,000 sq ft, overlook Harrods and includes five bedrooms, as well as its own private spa, cinema and cocktail bar.
The block, adjoining the Mandarin Oriental hotel, commanded record prices of more than £7,000 psf when it launched in 2011. About £2bn in sales has been raised from the 86 apartments.
Candy’s One Hyde Park property was valued at £160m in 2018, according to Land Registry documents. He took out an £80m mortgage on the property that year, believed to be the largest loan advanced on a British property. The duplex apartment was rented out for £500,000 a month.
