Nigel Ross, former chief executive of Compco, has joined the board of Bedford Estates to advise on the future of its £200m London portfolio.
Ross, who was joint chief executive of Compco until it was taken over by City & General in July, will spend one day a week advising Bedford – the Russell family’s holding company – without remuneration.
Bedford owns over 170 properties in and around Bedford Square, Russell Square and Southampton Row, WC2.
Ross said: “I have a long relationship with the Russell family and am happy to help.
“We will be disposing of some properties outside London and focusing on London estates.
“We want to be seen as a natural purchaser for properties around the estate but not as a ‘special purchaser’ willing to overpay.”
