Nike is to launch its first UK women’s-only shop on the King’s Road, SW3.
The sports giant has signed for a 3,000 sq ft shop at Martin’s Properties’ 33 King’s Road, where it is paying £435,000 pa on a 10-year lease.
Nike trialled its new concept with two US shops in Newport Beach and San Francisco, California, and a third in Shanghai, China, last year.
The London debut is expected to be the start of a worldwide expansion. Nike wants to grow its $5bn (£3.3bn) womenswear division to around $7bn by 2017.
Womenswear currently accounts for 20% of the company’s total revenue but is one of the fastest growing segments.
