Nissan Retail Group is planning to acquire up to 15 sites along the M3 and M5 corridors over the next two years.
Nissan Motor (GB) has set up a retail division with funds of around £15m to develop this new programme. The company is looking for sites of between 0.75 and 1.25 acres with good visibility, on main road locations and with good access.
Strutt & Parker’s Bill Bexson who has been appointed to provide professional and agency advice for the retailer, said the sites could be existing dealerships, former industrial or retail space or new build.
Nissan is prepared to look at both freehold and leasehold opportunities. Car dealerships are not governed by PPG6 which may restrict other retail users acquiring the some of the sites.
Bexson adds that the sites will be used for showrooms and service centres, not accident repairs or body workshops.
