No one loves working from home more than the British

No one hates going to the office more than the Brits.

That is the finding of Morgan Stanley’s latest multi-region survey, which found that the UK leads the table for work-from-home days taken. That is despite having been the most office-bound workforce before 2020.

Using a sample of 4,126 working-age respondents in the US, UK, Germany and France, more than a quarter of British and Americans said they would quit their jobs if forced to back to the office five days a week.

Despite having more time away from the office already – two days a week instead of the 1.7 clocked up by the US, the nearest rival – UK workers also had the greatest appetite for more days at home, wanting an average of 2.7 days away from the office.

But it seems in response employers have been adding office space, with 52% of UK workers reporting that their current workspace is ‘much bigger’ or a ‘little bigger’ than their previous one.
