Land promotion company Ptarmigan Land has got the go ahead for 750 homes in Chelmsford, Essex.
The firm will develop the homes on behalf of landowners, the Stubbings family.
The scheme, at Channels Golf Club, will be 35% affordable and forms part of a larger development plan for 4,000 homes in the area.
Work on site is expected to begin within the next 12 months, with completion by 2020.
