Plans for a 140,000 sq ft Marks & Spencer store at Wolstanton retail park in Newcastle-under-Lyme have been given the go-ahead.
Council planners have recommended approval for the £40m out-of-town store on the McLagan Developments-owned Park.
M&S is also in talks with the council to open a Simply Food store in Newcastle-under-Lyme’s town centre.
Following the consent, local government secretary Eric Pickles will now decide whether or not to call in the scheme. The development could be open by spring 2014.
