Nomura is a front-runner in the sale of about 700 Scottish & Newcastle (S&N) pubs.
The two groups are believed to be in advanced negotiations for Nomura’s Real Estate Finance Group to buy abut 700 pubs for £600m-£700m.
An agreement which would see S&N secure management contracts to run the pubs could be finalised within the next month.
