LendInvest has secured £150m of initial funding from Asian investment bank Nomura and alternative investment manager Magnetar.
The online platform for property finance and investing will use the funding for residential development finance.
This funding brings LendInvest’s total capital for lending to around £1bn. Other investors include Merseyside Pension Fund, Citigroup and other banks.
In addition to development finance for small-scale residential development projects, LendInvest offers bridging and buy-to-let finance.
Roger Cattermole, managing director at Nomura, said: “We are pleased to be working with LendInvest in order to boost its access to finance for developers.
“Nomura’s participation in this joint venture demonstrates our commitment to providing SMEs and property entrepreneurs with access to funding in an evolving UK residential property market.”
CBRE advised LendInvest.
