Forget millionaire’s row — there are 16 areas of England and Wales where no property has sold for more than £1m in the past 10 years.
Research by the BBC revealed that the areas where transactions had never exceeded £1m since the start of 2007 were mainly in the northwest, with seven, and Wales, with three.
Sales of £1m-plus homes reached a new high last year but there were many areas, from Gateshead in the northeast to Gloucester in the southwest, where no properties reached the seven-figure mark.
