Norman and Leighton ‘best hope for JS’

Archie Norman and Allan Leighton, the former Asda “dream team”, are the best hope for the future success of Sainsbury’s, writes Patience Wheatcroft, in The Times.

Norman is standing down from politics at the next general election and Leighton has relinquished three directorships this week. Both have signalled they are up for some excitement.

Wheatcroft says Sainsbury family might be reluctant to sell their stake to them but they need to ask themselves how much of the company they are prepared to share in order to get Leighton and Norman to knock it back into shape.
