A £200m Network Rail shed and track development plan in Hornsey, north London, has finally gained consent.
The company has been given permission to build a 11m-high depot at Coronation Sidings, off Turnpike Lane. It will store longer trains due to be rolled out on the Thameslink service.
Network Rail had originally planned for a 45% larger warehouse, but Haringey council rejected the proposals.
Planning permission will also allow the firm to carry out infrastructure and property upgrading across its 27-acre site. The total development is valued at around £200m.
Work on the site will begin next year, with completion expected in 2014.
