GVA and Pinsent Masons have been appointed by Manchester city council and the HCA to find a private partner for a major residential-led regeneration scheme aiming to unlock the city’s “Northern Gateway”.
The development opportunity covers more than 245 acres extending from the city centre and Hermes’s and the Co-operative’s NOMA development to New Cross, the Lower Irk Valley and Collyhurst neighbourhoods.
The council and HCA, working together as part of the Manchester Place initiative to increase house building in the city, believe the area could support up to 7,000 new homes in the next 10 to 15 years.
Manchester Place has created a master plan for the Gateway, with a series of distinctive interconnected communities supported by high-quality facilities, green spaces and transport links to the city centre.
