The government will launch a major effort today to boost investment from the US in Northern Ireland in the wake of the peace process.
Mo Mowlem, secretary of state for Northern Ireland, flew to the US last night as the head of a delegation that included David Trimble, the provinces chief minister and Seamus Mallon. Bruce Robinson, chief executive of the Northern Ireland Industrial Development Board (IDB), said it wanted to relaunch Northern Ireland as “a viable brand” for US companies looking to invest in Europe.
The IDB wants to attract enough investment from non-UK companies to create up to 10,000 jobs over the next four years.
