Holmes has headed Eastside & City since it was established by Roxylight’s URUK arm, to develop the 42-acre brownfield site in the Eastside regeneration zone.
Detailed permission was granted in February 2006, for 1.4m sq ft of offices, 1.3m sq ft of apartments and 126,000 sq ft of retail, plus leisure space.
The Island has long been touted as the next home for Nottingham Council, which has a raft of properties scattered across the city and a 250,000 sq ft office requirement, but talks have stalled.
Eastside & City has also been unable to attract a prelet from the city’s professional services community, and firms have continued to move to existing business park schemes, notably Miller Birch’s ng2 location on the fringe of the city core.
