The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has reminded developers that they have until 19 November to submit ideas for rebuilding east London after the 2012 Olympics.
Johnson said he estimated that the 2012 legacy reward of the games was the potential for 30,000 new homes, new communities, and more than1m sq ft of commercial space.
The areas singled out for regeneration opportunities were the Olympic park, Stratford, southern and northern Olympic fringes, Hackney Wick and Fish Island.
Johnson said: “I want to work closely with all those who can help deliver this vision, including the private sector, the host boroughs, existing communities, the Olympic Park Legacy Company and landowners.”
Interested parties are urged to respond to the draft Olympic Legacy Supplementary Planning Guidance consultation.
