NPI bids for M&S’ central Bristol requirement with change of plan for Bond Street site

Marks & Spencer’s search for a new store in central Bristol has prompted NPI to attempt to repackage the Stonecutter Court office site on Bond Street for retail development.

M&S, which already has a shop on Broadmead, is understood to be searching for a second unit of 13,935 sq m (150,000 sq ft) nearby. A handful of other retailers are also looking for space.

David Skinner of Chesterton, who has been marketing Stonecutter Court for the past four years as an office location, confirmed that NPI will now seek a retail consent. The site, including a car park to the rear owned by Bristol Council, has room for around 27,870 sq m (300,000 sq ft) of shops.
