The National Trust for Scotland is open to selling properties to hotel developers providing their plans are sympathetic to the property’s importance.
The properties are wind and watertight but disused, chief executive Simon Skinner said.
A review of the NTS’s finances would also see investment concentrated on priority sites, with other sites losing out.
