NWS Bank acquires Rushton

Bank of Scotland subsidiary NWS Bank has acquired plant and machinery expert Edward Rush ton. The deal comes at a time when many financial institutions are shedding their property divisions.

“It was a natural move for us to have the company within our group,” said a spokesman for the bank, which specialises in leasing plant and machinery equipment.

Edward Rushton has a staff count of 70. As part of the shake-up, Will Staniland, Edward Rush ton’s head of property, is leaving to join London-based development consultancy Rumsey & Partners. Staniland, 33, made his name in development and investment consultancy. Last year he sold the Sara Lee site in Bath Road, Slough, to Guardian for £7m.
