Hammerson has appointed Odeon Cinemas’ group managing director for the UK and Ireland, Carole Welch, as a non-executive director.
Welch, who is also a non-executive director of Digital Cinema Media and a member of the board of the UK Cinema Association, will start her new role at the beginning of March.
She joined Odeon Cinemas in 2017 from Costa Coffee, where she was chief marketing officer, and has worked for Cadbury Schweppes, Associated British Foods and Whitbread after starting her career at PepsiCo.
David Tyler, chairman at Hammerson, said Welch would “bring a valuable occupier perspective as well as a deep understanding of the changing tastes of the UK consumer” to the Hammerson board.
