Southampton city council has given the go-ahead for a 1970s office block to be converted into a 156-bed student accommodation scheme.
Praxis Real Estate Management has secured approval for the NW Architects-designed scheme on Brunswick Place.
Peter Disley, associate director at Praxis, said: “This is great news for the economy of Southampton and its thriving student population. We believe this is an excellent opportunity to bring this former office block back into use as high-quality student accommodation.”
Work will start on the 12-storey redevelopment soon, with completion expected by September 2015.
GVA advised on planning.
