OG Kicks lands first London store after Shaftesbury Capital signing

Shaftesbury Capital has signed Depop footwear retailer OG Kicks for its first London store in the Carnaby district, W1.

The 1,564 sq ft store, which is spread over two floors, will open next month at 19-21 Foubert’s Place, providing limited-edition, sold-out sneakers and what it describes as “an easy buy, sell, trade experience”.

The concept was launched by Ryan Jackson from his bedroom in 2016. OG Kicks grew into a highly successful seller on Depop, the peer-to-peer social e-commerce site, before opening its first store in Brighton just before the pandemic began. Despite facing significant challenges during Covid, the brand continued to grow thanks to its presence on social media and word-of-mouth in the sneaker community.

Andrew Price, executive director at Shaftesbury Capital, said: “Offering a wide range of limited-edition sold-out sneakers as well as streetwear, the new store will be a great fit alongside the existing streetwear line up on Foubert’s Place, which inclues Adidas Originals, NBA and the forthcoming Hollister store.”
