Oil clan buys UK property

A wealthy French family has bought three London homes in less than six months, with a combined cost of £150m.
The Perrodo family, which made its fortune from the oil and gas company Perenco, have bought a £52.5m townhouse in Chelsea, a £55m villa in Holland Park and last month they exchanged contracts on a Chelsea apartment for an estimated £43m. At least two of the purchases were made through companies, attracting stamp duty of 15%.
The family was the highest new entry into the Sunday Times Rich List, at number 14 with £6.1bn.
According to Christie’s International Real Estate London has experienced a 17% increase in the number of French buyers of £20m-plus properties.
