Old Oak appoints former Hammerson asset manager as commercial director

Hammerson’s Ben O’Neill has been appointed commercial director of Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation.

O’Neill, who was a development manager and asset manager at Hammerson, will oversee the delivery of one of the UK’s largest regeneration projects with the potential for 24,000 homes and millions of square feet of business space.

During his tenure at Hammerson, O’Neill worked in several asset management and development roles, including the £1.4bn regeneration of Croydon town centre and the £1.3bn Brent Cross extension.

He has most recently been responsible for Grand Central Birmingham and its integration following its £335m acquisition. O’Neill is a chartered surveyor and a trustee of Cockpit Arts.

OPDC was established in April 2015 and it has full planning powers within its 1,600-acre boundary that includes land in the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing and Brent.
