Taylor Wimpey and London & Quadrant have been selected to develop the Chobham Manor neighbourhood in London’s Olympic Park.
The London Legacy Development Corporation revealed this week that it had selected a preferred developer for the 800-home Chobham Manor scheme.
It will be the first of five neighbourhoods to be developed in the Olympic Park by the LLDC after the 2012 Games. The first homes are expected to be ready in 2014.
Taylor Wimpey and L&Q were shortlisted alongside East Thames with Countryside Properties and Barratt Homes with Le Frak Organisation.
The Taylor Wimpey and L&Q joint venture is expected to be confirmed as the preferred developer once the tendering process is completed next week.
Chobham Manor will offer a mix of terraced housing, mews housing and duplex apartments within tree-lined avenues, streets and open squares.
Around 30% of the homes will be affordable housing, with local people targeted through local authorities and housing associations.
It will sit adjacent to the Athletes’ Village, which will be converted into 2,800 flats after the 2012 Games. Delancey and Qatari Diar will own the private housing and Triathlon Homes will owned the affordable element.
