A preferred party has been selected to deliver up to 1,500 homes at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, E20.

A consortium between Places for People and Balfour Beatty has been selected, according to sources, which said the other two shortlisted parties, Grainger and Argent/Mace, had been informed they were not successful in the final round.

London Legacy Development Corporation and mayor of London Boris Johnson announced plans in July 2013 to bring forward the completion date to 2023, six years ahead of plan.

A spokesman for the LLDC said: “We are finalising the contractual arrangements for the development partner for the East Wick and Sweetwater site on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We hope to make an announcement in due course.”

Deloitte Real Estate is advising LLDC.
