Opportunity Peterborough names new chairman

Urban regeneration company Opportunity Peterborough has appointed John Bridge as its new chairman.

Bridge, who has been chief executive of Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce since 2004, will take over from Tony Allum.

Allum is standing down this month due to family commitments.

Bridge said: “Peterborough, despite the current financial climate, is a developing economy, with one of the most forward-thinking strategic growth agendas and desirable environmental credentials in the country.

“It is a great privilege to have been given the chance to take up this position within an organisation that has such a vital role to play in the city’s regeneration and development.”

Opportunity Peterborough is a public/private partnership set up by its partners – the East of England Development Agency, English Partnerships, the Department for Communities and Local Government, and Peterborough City Council – to deliver the regeneration of Peterborough.
