The Department of Health and Social Care is seeking options for the UK Health Security Agency’s Rosalind Franklin Laboratory, located in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.
The government body has appointed Avison Young to market the 236,231 sq ft facility, set in the Warwick Innovation District.
The laboratory, which opened in 2021, was purpose-built by the UKHSA to enable the processing of PCR tests at scale during the Covid-19 pandemic. It comprises nine flexible lab lines and associated logistics, office and amenity areas.
Avison Young expects the facility to attract interest from potential occupiers or investors within the life sciences sector.
Jonathan Lowe, director at Avison Young UK, said: “A facility of this size, and developed to this specification, is not easy to come by.
“Rosalind Franklin Laboratory provides the opportunity to help fill the supply gap in the market currently for a number of uses, including precision medicine, high-throughput testing, diagnostic testing and genomic sequencing alongside a host of other R&D functions.
“As such, we’re very pleased to be working with UKHSA to take the Rosalind Franklin Laboratory into the next stage of its life – unlocking its potential as an enabler of continued innovation for the sector.”
