Orchard signs ASDA for Llantrisant non-food store

Orchard Street Investment Management has let a 14,900 sq ft store at its Glamorgan Vale Retail Park in Llantrisant, South Wales, to ASDA for its ASDA Living concept.

Wal-Mart-owned ASDA has taken a 15-year lease with a break at the 10th year at a rent of £23.50 per sq ft, with fixed increases at five-yearly intervals.

The ‘non-food’ format store will open in time for Christmas.

Glamorgan Vale is an 116,500 sq ft retail park comprising 12 shops let to tenants including Peacocks, JJB, Halfords and Aldi.

Gary Felce, chief investment officer at Orchard Street, said: “We are delighted to have secured ASDA as a tenant.

“The deal illustrates the increasing importance of Glamorgan Vale Retail Park for shoppers in the local area and ASDA Living will provide a welcome addition to the range of shopping options available for Llantrisant.”

Edgerley Simpson Howe advised Orchard Street; Atisreal advised ASDA.
