Orchard Street hires from JLL for new ESG role

Orchard Street Investment Management has created a dedicated role overseeing environmental, governance and social issues and hired a JLL director to fill it.

Lora Brill

Lora Brill joins Orchard Street as head of responsibility and ESG. She was most recently at JLL, where she advised clients on sustainability issues, and where Orchard Street was one of her clients.

Announcing her new role, Brill said: “Property investment managers have a critical role to play in delivering long-term responsible returns through a careful integration of ESG risks and opportunities.”

Orchard Street managing partner Philip Gadsden said: “These days it almost feels like the minimum requirement for a development scheme to be able to be carbon neutral in operation… There is much more both for our industry and our business to achieve as we build towards a net zero carbon world and so we are very pleased to have attracted to our business someone with Lora’s experience and passion.”
