Overseas investment in UK shopping centres has jumped 70% over the past 12 months, according to EG data.
Year-on-year overseas investment has climbed from £485m to £825m to the end of September, and increased its percentage share of overall investment from 14% to 42%.
However, transactional volumes fell to a record low for the past five years. This trend is reflected in a drop in total investment, with overall spend on UK shopping centres dropping by almost 50%, from £3.4bn to £1.9bn.
European investment was £520m over the past 12 months, surpassing Asian and North American investors.
