Overseas investors continue to target UK for commercial property deals

Overseas investors continue to buy commercial property in the United Kingdom, according to DTZ Debenham Thorpe. It says direct investment from overseas in the first six months of 1996 reached £689m, up 70% year on year. Investors are being attracted by a combination of factors, including lower interest rates, potential for rental growth and relatively attractive yields on UK property. Central London continues to be the main target. German interest in UK property is beginning to move outside London and particularly into retail.
