Owners of luxury properties that are proving hard to sell are turning to the likes of Airbnb and property broker Xenyos to recoup some of their investment while they continue the search for a buyer.
Owners are also looking at shorter rental contracts after a fall in long-term ones.
The number of London properties on Airbnb totalled 50,000 at the end of last year, double the level in the prior period, data from Jones Lang LaSalle show.
