Sales at Oxfam’s high street shops rose by 1.3% during the nine-week festive trading period compared with the same weeks in 2017.
The charity also said trading at its physical shops in the week before Christmas (16-22 December) reached a seven-year high.
Its online sales, boosted by the Black Friday discounting event, surged by 27% during the same timeframe. Total sales at the charity inched up by 1% to exceed £18m.
Oxfam cited its own-brand, ethically-sourced product range as a standout performer. Eco-friendly products, such as beeswax food wrap and reusable coffee cups, were particularly “sought after”.
Andrew Horton, trading director at Oxfam, said customers were becoming “increasingly thoughtful about how they spend their money”.
Oxfam operates 604 high street shops across the UK, selling donated fashion, books, music, homewares and the Sourced by Oxfam product range.
