Life Science REIT has let a further 30,000 sq ft to Oxford Ionics at its Oxford Technology Park.
The quantum computing firm will take the space in Building 6a of the OTP, paying an annual rent of £593,220. This equates to £20 per sq ft for a 10-year term, with a break clause and rent review at the end of the fifth year.
Oxford Ionics is an existing occupier, having already taken 4,887 sq ft at Building 1. The new space, which provides a contemporary office style frontage with flexible R&D, lab and workspace, is more than six times the size of its original space and will become its new headquarters.
It is targeting a BREEAM Excellent certification.
Ian Harris, director of the REIT’s investment adviser, Ironstone, said: “Oxford Ionics is a great example of how OTP can accommodate fast-growing life sciences businesses by providing specialist space to meet their needs as they evolve.”
OTP was acquired by Life Science REIT in May 2022. It now comprises five completed buildings totalling 173,400 sq ft and 333,200 sq ft of development space.
