Packaged Living hires Melburg Capital EVP

Build-to-rent specialist Packaged Living has hired Melburg Capital executive vice president Edward Owen as a multi-family housing acquisitions consultant.

In his new role, Owen will focus on sourcing sites for the firm’s multi-family housing platform and creating further partnerships with landlords looking to repurpose their existing commercial, retail and leisure assets.

At Melburg Capital, Owen was responsible for sourcing, funding and acquiring assets. Before he joined Melburg in 2017, he was a director at JLL in the capital markets team, where he specialised in shopping centre investment.

His appointment comes after the firm hired Neil Terret to expand its land portfolio, with a specific focus on land for single-family housing. He was previously a senior land manager at Countryside.

Ed Ellerington, managing director of Packaged Living, said: “Since Packaged Living’s inception in 2018, we have grown our portfolio to more than 4,000 rental homes in the multi- and single-family housing sectors across the UK and expect to continue our growth trajectory over the coming years.

“To that end, Neil and Ed’s appointments come at a crucial period of expansion for the business.”
