Paddington plans hit the sidings

Westminster councils planning committee this week refused Railtracks plans for a Sir Nicholas Grimshaw tower at Paddington Station for a second time, saying the scheme is not “of an exceptional architectural standard”.

The proposed 1.3m sq ft redevelopment of the nearby St Marys Hospital was also expected to be refused because it contained too much retail.
