Panasonic plans to move its European headquarters from Britain this year amid concerns about the impact of Brexit.
The Japanese consumer electronics company said that it would relocate to Amsterdam in October to sidestep the risk of tax issues related to the UK’s departure from the European Union in March. It is the latest example of multinational companies taking contingency actions.
A spokeswoman said yesterday that the relocation would affect a small number of people, with fewer than ten likely to move. Audit and financial operations were likely to be transferred while investor relations staff would remain.
