Logistics developer Panattoni has appointed former Hammerson assistant treasurer Oliver Choppin as its director of finance and operations for the UK.
Choppin will be responsible for structuring debt finance, maintaining lending relationships and deploying capital allocations, as well as managing the UK development business’s operations.
Choppin spent 17 years at Hammerson in various treasury and accounting roles, having joined the REIT in 2004 as a retail property accountant. During his career Choppin has been involved in more than £7bn of financing deals in both public and private debt markets.
Matthew Byrom, managing director of Panattoni, said: “Oliver will bring a wealth of knowledge into the business and will greatly assist the UK team in optimising the financial return of projects and managing our expanding development platform.”
The appointment comes after Panattoni recruited Nick Cripps as its new head of capital markets in January.
