Panmure Gordon has appointed former CBRE director Philip Shields to lead its real estate investment banking team.
In his new role Shields will focus on M&A and other corporate finance opportunities for the division.
Shields joins the investment bank after nearly three years at CBRE where he was a senior director in its real estate investment banking business.
Prior to joining CBRE in March 2018 he was a director in PwC’s real estate corporate finance arm for more than two and a half years. Shields has also held senior positions at Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank.
During his 20-year career Shields has advised on more than 30 real estate transactions, including M&As, IPOs, equity raisings and debt advisory, with a total value of more than £15bn.
Panmure Gordon has advised on a number of high-profile transactions during 2020 to date, including Urban Logistics’ two equity raises.
