Stationery, cards and gift wrap specialist retailer Paperchase is to open at the Metrocentre in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear.
Paperchase will open a 2,300 sq ft store this week at Capital Shopping Centres’ scheme. It will be located opposite the recently let Office store and adjacent to USC, and will sit alongside fashion brands Bench, Henley and Jack & Jones.
Martin Breeden, director of asset management north at CSC, said: “This letting is testament to our success in continuing to improve the tenant mix within the Metrocentre and reinforces other high-quality lettings that we achieved last year, including new stores for Apple, Radley, Sweatshop and Office Shoes.
“Paperchase opened in Eldon Square, Newcastle, in 2010 and this new store opening shows the complementary market coverage that the two centres provide.”
Paperchase’s chief executive, Timothy Melgund, said: “We already have a small concession in House of Fraser with an ever growing Paperchase following so the new larger store will give us the opportunity to stock a broader range of products.”
Sanderson Weatherall and Lunson Mitchenall advised CSC; CB Richard Ellis represented Paperchase.
