Parkview International has asked Wandsworth council for more time to come up with detailed proposals for its £500m redevelopment of Battersea Power Station.
The Hong Kong-based developer wants a two-year extension to its existing outline consent, but the council wants a shorter deadline of six months. The existing outline consent dates back to 1997 and is due to expire in May.
A spokesman for Parkview said today that a detailed application will be submitted in March.
A council spokesman said: ” We’ve been assured by Parkview that they’ll have a detailed application submitted before May. This is just an insurance policy for them. The council has invested a lot of time effort and goodwill in this scheme which is strategically vital for the borough.”
Parkview has also still not yet acquired a 0.8ha (2 acre) site which it needs for its detailed scheme. It has been negotiating with landowners the National Grid and British Rail since last June.
