Parkview’s £500m plans to redevelop Battersea Power Station face further delays after local opponents won the right to take Wandsworth council to court over the scheme.
The Battersea Power Station Community Group will take the council to judicial review in October after a court ruled that the group could challenge the council’s handling of the scheme on legal grounds.
The case, brought by BPSCG member June Hautot in November 2002, argued that the planning permission was illegal because Wandsworth had failed to carry out an environmental impact scoping assessment on Parkview’s plans to remove the train station.
Parkview’s 4m sq ft redevelopment will include 431,000 sq ft of offices, 500,000 sq ft of shops and exhibition space, 500-700 flats and two hotels.
