Cornwall Council has appointed CBRE to find a strategic partner to develop the airport estate, located on the 653-acre site in St Mawgan.
The potential partner is expected to bring private funding to the mixed-asset site, comprising Cornwall Airport Newquay, the Aerohub Business Park, the Spaceport Cornwall zone, Kernow Solar Park and 200 acres of undeveloped land.
The airport currently offers flights to London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Belfast and Dublin. The site also has road access to Newquay, Truro, Bodmin and Wadebridge.
Simon Tanner, senior director of strategic advisory at CBRE, said: “Cornwall Airport Newquay is one of the fastest-growing airports in the UK and with the right strategic partner, who has a shared vision for growth, the site has development potential, and can be a catalyst for economic growth in the wider Cornwall area.”
