Keele University has launched a search for potential strategic partners to support the growth of its science and innovation park in Staffordshire.
The 20-acre development land is part of Keele’s 600-acre campus, which is already a home to over 1,000 employees across more than 50 businesses.
The next phase of expansion is set to deliver new office, research and development, and industrial facilities as well as new homes.
The move follows the continued expansion of the park over the past five years, which has seen Keele adding four innovation centres, hub-space for businesses, a UK charity HQ, and a Courtyard by Marriott hotel. Keele’s business school and veterinary school are also now co-located with businesses on the park.
Joe Caine, head of Keele’s Science and Innovation Park, said: “The park’s growing reputation, facilities, university research base and a future graduate workforce have been in demand by businesses in the life sciences, medtech, healthcare, energy and technology sectors. As a result, the park is embarking on a major expansion that has seen the creation of a number of shovel-ready, serviced plots adjacent to the park’s 12 existing facilities.”
