A partnership including Bolton Council has unveiled plans for a £150m mixed development. A new 25,000 all-seater Bolton Wanderers stadium will form part of the Middlebrook development. The 80.13ha (198 acre) development will also include a 4.05ha (10 acre) business park, 23,225 sq m (250,000 sq ft) of offices, six restaurants, a retail park, a 120-bedroom hotel and a new railway station.
The complex, alongside the M61, includes Asda, a multi-screen Warner Bros cinema and McDonald’s. It will accommodate 5,000 cars. It will take 18 months to build.
