Patrizia’s Aldgate office gets go-ahead

Patrizia’s Aldgate office redevelopment scheme has been granted approval by the City of London Corporation.

The new site will include replacing the existing 16-storey tower and seven-storey podium, Writers House, at 30 Minories, EC3, with a 16-storey development.

The scheme is a key investment in Patrizia’s flagship TransEuropean fund, which focuses on value-add opportunities primarily on the office, industrial and living sectors in continental Europe and the UK.

Once complete it will provide 186,370 sq ft of office space on the upper levels, plus flexible retail, leisure and employment uses on the ground and lower-ground levels.

The PLP Architecture-designed development is targeting BREEAM Outstanding, WiredScore Platinum, WELL Platinum and NABERS UK certifications. It is also aiming to be net zero carbon in operation.

Writers House, a six-storey Victorian warehouse, will be partially retained and refurbished to provide affordable office space. It will be leased at achievable rents to local enterprises. The ground and lower-ground levels will offer community space and be equipped for quiet working space, events and activities.
