Peabody appoints interim chair

Housing association Peabody has appointed David Hardy as interim chair, following the death of Lord Kerslake last month.

Peabody Group, which includes Peabody Trust and Peabody Capital, said Hardy, currently chair of its finance and treasury committee, would serve until a permanent chair is appointed.

It said the chartered accountant was “committed to steering the board to deliver Peabody’s social purpose and the priorities agreed by the board under Lord Kerslake’s leadership”.

These include investing more in existing homes as well as delivering more “high-quality, sustainable, affordable homes”.

Ravi Rajagopal will resume his role as vice-chair from today.
